Privacy Policy for EyuX AI Assistant

Thank you for using EyuX, a personal AI assistant created by Eyuel Engida. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected and how it is used and protected.

The core principle of EyuX is privacy by design. The application is architected to be a client-side tool, meaning your data lives primarily and whenever possible on your own device or in your own cloud account, not on our servers.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear about the data we never see, collect, or store on any central server:

• Your Conversations: The content of your chats with the AI is stored locally on your device's browser storage. We do not have access to your chat history.
• Your Personal Memories: The "Personal Memories" feature saves facts about you for the AI to remember. This information is stored exclusively on your device.
• Your Uploaded Files: Any images, documents, or sketches you upload are processed directly on your device and are not stored by us.
• Your Google Drive Files: If you choose to enable the Cloud Sync feature, EyuX requests permission to a special, sandboxed "app data" folder in your Google Drive. EyuX cannot see, read, or access any other files or folders in your Google Drive. It only has permission to manage the single EyuX-Backup.json file that it creates.

2. Information You Provide

• API Keys (Gemini & Tavily): EyuX requires you to provide your own personal API keys. These keys are stored only on your local device and are sent directly from your browser to the respective services (Google or Tavily). We never see or log these keys.
• Cloud Sync Authentication: When you connect to the "Cloud Sync" feature, you authenticate directly with your Google Account. EyuX receives an authentication token that grants it limited permission to manage its own backup file in your Google Drive. EyuX does not receive or store your Google password.

3. How Your Information Is Used

• Local Storage: Your conversations, settings, memories, and API keys are stored locally in your browser to provide a persistent experience on the same device. If you clear your browser's site data, this information will be deleted.
• Google Drive for Cloud Sync: If enabled, the app uses your permission to create and update a single EyuX-Backup.json file in your Google Drive for backup and synchronization purposes across your devices.
• Public Share Links: If you choose to share a conversation, a copy of that specific conversation is sent to a third-party service to generate a publicly accessible, expiring link. Do not share conversations containing sensitive information.

4. Third-Party Services

EyuX interacts with the following third-party services by sending data directly from your device:

• Google Generative AI: For generating AI responses.
• Tavily AI: For providing web search results.
• Pollinations.ai: For generating images.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services for a complete understanding of how they handle your data.

5. Data Security

Since your data is stored locally, its security is tied to the security of your device. For the Cloud Sync feature, the security of your backup file is handled by your Google Account's security. We strongly recommend using a strong password and enabling two-factor authentication on your Google Account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
